First Class Accountants — Belief First
You're Great at Running Other People's Businesses. Now Let's Build Yours.
“The best accountants advise their clients on business strategy — then
wonder why they haven’t applied the same thinking to their own firm.”
WORKING WITH
The Reality
Why Accounting Practices Plateau — Even When the Work is Excellent
"To know and not to do, is not to know."
every day. The challenge is applying that same rigour to their own practice — and
that's exactly where the First Class Accountants Program comes in.
Our Approach
We Help You Apply to Your Own Practice What You Already Know
The 7 Business Drivers™ — identified by Peter Fuller and adapted for the accounting profession — give you a complete strategic framework for building a practice that’s resilient, profitable and genuinely rewarding to run.
Working with Belief First means working with a coach who understands business at every level — from the boardroom to the balance sheet. We bring structure, accountability and an outside perspective to unlock what’s possible for your firm.
We bring the questions. You bring the answers. Together, we build the plan.
The Framework
The 7 Business Drivers™ for Accounting Practices
Seven interconnected levers that, when working together, determine the health, growth and value of your practice. Most firms are strong on one or two. World-class practices work all seven.
How It Works
A Structured Process.
Real Results.
Belief First isn’t a course or a one-off workshop. It’s a coaching engagement that builds clarity, accountability and capability inside your firm — step by step.
Strategic & Operational Planning Programs
Depending on your needs, we deploy either our 8-Step Strategic Planning Process — for firms that
need to set direction — or our 10-Step Operational Planning Process — for firms that need to
improve execution. Many clients use both.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. While the 7 Business Drivers™ framework applies broadly, the program for accounting practices is specifically adapted to the realities of running a firm — billable hours, client retention, staff culture, partner dynamics and practice management. Paul also has a background in Accounting, so the conversation starts at a more informed level than typical business coaching.
The 8-Step Strategic Planning Process focuses on setting direction — where the firm is going, what it stands for, and the big moves that will get it there. The 10-Step Operational Planning Process focuses on execution — how to implement strategy through clear tasks, accountability and timelines. Many clients benefit from both, delivered in sequence.
We build the program around your practice’s real capacity. Initial workshops are structured to be efficient and focused — typically half-day sessions with key stakeholders. Ongoing coaching sessions are monthly, with check-ins in between as needed. You won’t be pulled away from client work for weeks at a time.
At minimum, the Principal, partners and senior leaders. The more decision-makers in the room early, the faster things move. For operational planning, we also recommend involving key department heads so the plan is grounded in operational reality, not just leadership assumptions.
Engagement scope and fees are discussed on the Discovery Call, tailored to your firm’s size and needs. Start with a free 15-minute call to determine whether there’s a fit — there’s no cost and no obligation.
You get ongoing access to Paul for coaching support, plus Catipult.ai for automated progress tracking, accountability reminders and performance insights. The goal is that the framework becomes embedded in how your practice operates — not something that fades six months after the engagement ends.
